This is a Texas Long Island Iced Tea. And you’re doing it wrong….

Texas Tea has the Tequila. Regular long island does not.

You only put 3/4 oz Sweet and Sour to give the flavor of a lemon in your tea.
The rest you fill with coke to give the color and taste of tea.

I had a contest with some bartenders and this recipe won, hands down.

after bad experieces with lower end tequilas, I’d never use anything less than a 100% del agave

  17. spyke45690 says:

your recipe sounds more like the long island ice tea I’ve had, I thought his sounded a little funny but figured that bar might just do it different

  18. kiddce says:

maybe in texas you would call this a texas long island iced tea but that doesn’t fly anywhere else. Whether your making a nuclear/godzilla, boston/long beach, hawaiian, electric/A.M.F., they all have tequila in them.

I agree with you on the Sweet & sour though!

  19. jmaer91 says:

triple sec. It’s like an orange flavoured liquor. eg. Cointreau
