Benefits of Incorporating Herbal Teas into your Bath

Some people relax with a cup of tea and others with a bath. Why not do both by adding herbal teas to your bath water. The herbs in these teas have many benefits for the body and mind. You can soothe your achy muscles and joints, relieve stress and tension, aid your digestion or rejuvenate your skin by adding them to your bath.

The first step is to prepare the tea. You will need 5-6 tea bags or the equivalent in loose tea. Make sure you use organic ingredients for best results. You want the herbs to be as pure as possible to enjoy their benefits to the maximum. Start boiling about 2 cup of water but take it of the stove when it’s very hot but not boiling. We don’t want boiling water because this will only burn the leaves, however the water needs to be hot enough to extract the properties of the herbs into the water. Let the tea mixture sit for 5 minutes and then add to your bath water. You can add only the water part or include the tea bags or loose leaves. The choice is yours, some people like to pass the tea bags over their skin as a sponge.

To give you an idea of what teas to use, I have listed a few as well as what they can help you with. If you wish you can combine 3 or 4 of them for a custom blend.
